Just finished reading the first two books in the Chains trilogy by Laurie Halse Anderson. These books do a fantastic job at bringing to life the shackles of slavery during the 1700s and the horrors of war during the American Revolution. They are both vivid, fast-paced and gripping. Highly recommended for historical fiction enthusiasts and those interested in issues related to slavery, freedom, the American Revolution, survival and loss during war.
