I just finished Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins this morning. I am both impressed by this authors writing and ability to hold her audience. The story was griping and I found myself unable to put it down. The idea of such a 'challenge' as the hunger games for young teens and adults to be faced with is out of the realm of my thinking. Such an unfair and horrifying idea to be forced to kill or be killed. Now I find myself so anxious about getting Catching Fire, the second book in the series. I plan to head tomorrow to get it (putting one of my other reading choices for the summer on hold) so I can find out what happens next. What happens to Katniss and Peeta? do they stay together? What will the first meeting between Katniss and Gale be like? What will Primrose think of her sister now that the games are over? So many unanswered questions...until tomorrow!
What a fabulous book! I loved it, too, and agree with your comments about how incredibly scary even the concept of the "Hunger Games" is. Keep reading. I would love to hear your thoughts on the following two books.
